8. Loeb KAHNMANN1 was born on 14 June 1814. He died of cholera in 1849 at the age of 35.1 He was also known as Leopold Canman.1 According to Werner Cahnman, Loeb (Leo) ran the first horse drawn busses in St. Louis.

Loeb KAHNMANN and Mariah "Maria" WAKEFIELD were married on 16 November 1838 in Saint Clair County, Illinois.20 Mariah "Maria" WAKEFIELD21,22,23,24,25,26, daughter of Father WAKEFIELD and Mahala HAWKINS, was born in 1821 in Illinois.22,25 She died on 5 February 1895 at the age of 74 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.25 She was buried at Bellefontaine Cemetery, Block 37, Lot 2731 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.25 Werner Cahnman wrote that Leo's wife and Jacob's wife were sisters from South Carolina. In the 1880 Census, Mahaly Wakefield, age 84, is listed as living both with Jane Wakefield Canman and Maria Wakefield Canman Knecht. Mahaly Wakefield was born in South Carolina as were both her parents.
