9. Baruch Kahnmann^1,13 was born on September 20, 1816.¹ He appeared in the census in 1850.⁶ Berruch Canmann is listed in Warren County, #065, 99th District. From the Belleville, Illinois public library card index to microfilmed newspapers (searched about 1974):
B. Canmann was elected to alderman of the 2nd ward (April 24, 1857)
Member of City Council arrested for violating ordinance forbidding parades on the Sabbath (January 22, 1858)
B. Canman in office as alderman of the 2nd ward (February 2, 1859) Baruch had a hours or mule business in St. Louis and Belleville, Illinois (Werner Cahnman, May 3, 1971).

Baruch Kahnmann and Charlotte Landensack were married on October 10, 1846 in St. Louis, Missouri.¹³ by the Pastof of the Methodist Church. Both are listed as being from St. Louis.

According to Werner Cahnman, Charlotte and Baruch's wife were sisters from South Carolina (letter dated 5/3/1971). According to the 1850 Census, Charlotte was born in Prussia. Baruch Kahnmann and Charlotte Landensack had the following children:

Charles Cannman14 was born in 1841 in Prussia. Charles is probably a son from Charlotte's first marriage (based on his age in the 1850 Census and their wedding date.)
