Leo CANMAN^1,69,70 was born on 18 July 1842 in Rheinbischofscheim, Baden, Germany.^69,70 He was a journalist with the Chigago Tribune.^1,70 He used the pen name "Bismark" He died on 28 January 1924 at the age of 81 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.⁷⁰ His obituary was published in the on 28 January 1924 .⁷¹ Chicago, Jan 28 -- Leo Canman, widely knows as "Bismarck," who for thirty-five years was railroad editor of The Tribune before his retirement in 1903, died today at the Highlands Hotel. For several years past he lived with his daughter, Mrs. Egbert, widow of Dr. Jerome William Egbert of India.
On the occasion of his eighty-first birthday in July of last year, Mr. Canman was the guest of the heads of the railroads centring in Chicago, whom he had known when they were subordinates.
