David H. Fleischer is elected Legion Vice-Commander
David H. Fleischer, a past commander of Fred W. Stockham Post 245 and a member of the American legion for approximately 29 years, was elected a national vice-commander of the American Legion yesterday at the convention in Philadelphia.

Fleischer is president of Commercial Letter, Inc., a direct mail advertising firm at 1209 Washington ave. he was a sargeant major in the 89th Division in World War I.

He joined the Stockham post shortly after the American Legion was founded here in 1919. He is a former post adjutant, having served nine consecutive terms in the posistion, and was commander in 19471948.

Fleischer is chairiman of the Conference of American Legion Posts, 11th and 12th Districts, Department of Missouri. He recently was named chairman of a campaign to raise funds within the Legion for rehabilitation work in Missouri.

He resides at 34 Ladel ct., Olivette, with his wife, Mrs. Cecelia Fleischer. They have two children, Mrs. Allen Oglander and Mrs. Jerry Zellinger, both of St. Louis. He died on 8 February 1973 at the age of 77 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. He served in the military. with HQ Det 89th Division to November, 1917; 164 Dep Brig to 15-Dec-1917; HQ Co 356 Infantry to 15 Feb, 1918; HQ Det 89th Div to Discharge (from the online Missouri State Archives Soldiers Database).

Dave FLEISCHER and Ceil DAVIDSON were married on 13 October 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Ceil DAVIDSON^31,32, daughter of David DAVIDSON and Anna FRELICH, was born on 14 March 1898 in Missouri.³¹ She died on 16 August 1990 at the age of 92 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
