56. Abe Garland^26,44 died in his home in Richmond Heights on 10 Jan 1999 in St. Louis, Missouri.⁴⁴ He died at home in Richmond Heights. Abe Garland practiced corporate law for 63 years at what is now the
Lewis, Rice & Fingersh law firm. He was chairman of the business
department of the firm. He served on the boards of the Jewish Center
for Aged, B'nai Amoona Congregation and the American Jewish Committee.
He was an avid golfer and member of Forest Hills Country Club.
Abe was born and reared in St. Louis. After earning his bachelor's
and law degrees from Washington University, he served as a judge
advocate in the Army in World War II, attaining the rank of major. He
was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Beta Delta fraternities and
Order of the Coif. He was editor chief of the Washington University
Law Review.

Abe Garland and Ann Shapiro were married estimated 1945. Ann Shapiro²⁶ died in 1974. Abe Garland and Ann Shapiro had the following children:
